  We had been working with an insurance agent who passed himself off as a "financial planner". He proved to be more interested in his commissions than our welfare. We began to search for a new financial planner and interviewed three who all proposed a fee of one percent of managed assets. Sounded like a pretty good deal - for them. They get one percent regardless of performance plus they can invest your funds in products that make them substantial on-going commissions. That business model did not seem appropriate for our financial welfare. We felt a better approach would be a "fee only" financial planner. We found CG Financial and have happily been doing business with the owner, Clark Grinde, for the past seven years. Clark charges only for time spent, never attempts to sell you anything, and provides sound and timely advice. We have found Clark's integrity to be exemplary, his advice totally appropriate to our circumstances, and his dedication un-paralleled. We are more than happy with the results of following Clark's advice. There is no doubt that CG Financial's fee only service is a much better approach than the high cost "wealth management" firms that charge 1% of your managed assets.
